Alex R is an Advanced Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner and Practice Lead at Hively Health. Based in Brisbane, Alex brings a decade of hands-on experience in the disability sector, starting her career as a support worker before becoming a registered counsellor and specialist in behaviour support.
Holding a Bachelor of Behavioural Science, and a Master of Counselling, Alex is also a registered member of the Australian Counselling Association. Her compassionate and strengths-based approach is shaped by her deep understanding of complex mental health needs, particularly in children, adolescents, and adults with disabilities.
Alex is known for her empathy, professionalism, and strong rapport with participants and their support networks. She believes in listening deeply to people’s stories and uncovering their strengths as a foundation for achieving positive behaviour change and long-term wellbeing.
Alex supports our experienced Practitioners to support individuals of all ages across the region, from Moreton Bay, Caboolture, North Lakes, Brisbane Bayside, Logan, Ipswich and surrounding areas.
Alex takes a person-centred, trauma-informed approach to Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), underpinned by evidence-based practice and a firm commitment to human rights. Her practice is guided by the belief that all individuals have the capacity to grow, connect, and thrive when supported in ways that are meaningful to them.
She is passionate about co-designing behaviour support strategies to manage challenging behaviours that are respectful, practical, and sustainable, especially in high-needs environments like schools, supported accommodation, and complex family settings.
As a positive behaviour support therapist in Brisbane, Alex champions collaborative planning with families, educators, support teams, and allied professionals to develop plans that are both clinically sound and realistically applicable in everyday life.

Alex is based in Brisbane and supports our Practitioners to provide expert support to participants across the Greater Brisbane Area, including the Moreton Bay Region, Caboolture, North Lakes, Brisbane Bayside, Wider Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich and surrounds.

Yes. Alex supports our team to provide NDIS-funded Positive Behaviour Support for self-managed, plan-managed and agency-managed participants.
A behaviour support plan developed by Alex and our team typically includes a Functional Behaviour Assessment, proactive strategies, skill-building supports, and guidance for managing or reducing restrictive practices in line with NDIS requirements. Behaviour support strategies are collaboratively, involving key stakeholders such as allied health professionals, clinical teams, family members, and direct support staff.
