Approach & Philosophy

Tory’s approach is grounded in creating a therapeutic space that feels safe, collaborative, and empowering. She believes meaningful change happens when clients feel genuinely heard and actively involved in their own care. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model, Tory works alongside each person to understand their goals, strengths, and lived experience, tailoring therapy to suit their individual needs and stage of life.

Her work is guided by evidence-informed practices, drawing on approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, while remaining flexible and responsive. For children and young people, Tory incorporates play-based and developmentally appropriate strategies to support engagement, emotional expression, and skill building in ways that feel natural and accessible. She places a strong emphasis on strengths-based practice, focusing not only on challenges but also on resilience, capacity, and growth.

Tory is committed to inclusive, neuroaffirming, and trauma-informed care. She is mindful of how past experiences, identity, relationships, and environment can influence wellbeing, and she prioritises trust, respect, and emotional safety in the therapeutic relationship. By taking a holistic view of mental health, Tory aims to support clients in building insight, confidence, and practical tools that promote long-term wellbeing and meaningful change.
