Brad Smith is an experienced Provisional Psychologist, with a Master of Professional Psychology, and currently completing his Master of Clinical Psychology.

Brad has completed clinical placements with Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) and the Youth Step Up Step Down (YSUSD) Unit, where he worked extensively with children and adolescents presenting with trauma, mood and anxiety disorders, behavioural challenges, and complex neurodevelopmental conditions.

Brad is passionate about supporting children and adolescents to develop emotional regulation, resilience, and coping skills through collaborative, strengths-based, and developmentally informed care. He brings a warm, professional, and culturally responsive approach to his work and is committed to ongoing learning, supervision, and ethical practice.

Brad is highly skilled in the administration and interpretation of cognitive, behavioural, and adaptive assessments.

Brad is confident in integrating assessment findings and therapeutic support into meaningful, practical recommendations for young children, adolescents, adults and families.

Who does Brad provide support to?

Brad provides assessments and ongoing therapy for young children, adolescents and adults. Brad is experienced and interested in supporting younger children through taking a play-based approach to working with children in a safe and supportive therapy environment.

Do I need a referral to see Brad?

A referral is not required to book with Brad. As a provisional psychologist, he offers sessions at only the out-of-pocket rate per session. However, you are welcome to receive a referral from your specialist to facilitate ongoing communication between your support systems.

What can I expect from my sessions with Brad?

Brad’s approach is client-centered, meaning support and strategies are all about you. Brad aims to understand your journey and goals through using various therapy styles including DBT, CBT and ACT.
