What is Positive Behaviour Support?

Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is a person-centred approach that seeks to understand why behaviours of concern occur and develop practical strategies that improve quality of life, independence and participation.

Our Sunshine Coast PBS practitioners work with participants and the people around them to develop strategies that reflect each person’s needs, goals, preferences and environment.

Our Sunshine Coast Positive Behaviour Support Services

We provide flexible Positive Behaviour Support across the Sunshine Coast, tailoring assessment, planning and ongoing support to each participant’s individual circumstances and goals.

Functional Behaviour Assessments

Our practitioners conduct Functional Behaviour Assessments to understand why behaviours occur and identify factors influencing them. Findings guide practical support strategies and can help inform requests for behaviour support funding within an NDIS plan.

Personalised Behaviour Support Plans

We develop personalised behaviour support plans with practical, proactive strategies tailored to each participant’s needs, goals and environment. Plans focus on improving quality of life and reducing the use of restrictive practices.

Individual & Support Team Planning

We work closely with each participant and their support team, including families, carers and local schools, to understand their needs, goals and everyday environments and build consistent, practical support around them.

Ongoing Adjustments & Teamwork

We provide regular plan reviews, updates and collaborative support with families, carers, schools and other professionals to keep strategies practical, effective and responsive as each participant’s needs and circumstances change.
