What is Positive Behaviour Support?

Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) takes a person-centred approach to understanding behaviours of concern, including what may be contributing to them and how the right supports can improve wellbeing, independence and participation.

Our Brisbane-based PBS practitioners collaborate with participants and the important people in their lives to develop practical, individualised strategies that align with each person’s goals, preferences, needs and circumstances.

Our Positive Behaviour Support Services in Brisbane

Our Brisbane behaviour support practitioners work with individuals across the lifespan, tailoring our approach to meet each person’s unique needs, preferences, and goals.

Tailored
Assessments

Our behaviour assessments explore the factors contributing to behaviours of concern and identify practical strategies tailored to each individual. We provide comprehensive assessments for participants seeking to have Positive Behaviour Support funded through their NDIS Plan.

Behaviour Support Plans

Our NDIS-compliant behaviour support plans are clear, practical and tailored to each individual. They include proactive strategies to address behaviours of concern, support positive outcomes and, where relevant, reduce the use of restrictive practices.

Person-Centred Approach

We work closely with each individual and their broader support network to understand their needs, goals and preferences. This person-centred approach helps us develop practical strategies that promote positive outcomes, independence and meaningful participation in everyday life.

Ongoing Monitoring & Collaboration

We provide regular reviews, updates and ongoing collaboration with the individual and their broader support team. This helps ensure behaviour support strategies remain practical, effective and responsive as the person’s needs, goals and circumstances change over time.

Community Partnerships and Collaboration across Brisbane

Positive Behaviour Support is most effective when it’s a team effort.

The behaviour support practitioner develops the plan, but it’s the people around the participant, like support workers, family, teachers, and carers who implement strategies consistently day-to-day.

In Brisbane, we’re proud to work alongside families, carers, guardians and extended care teams, such as:
